Islamabad: Senate President Yousaf Raza Gilani expressed disappointment over the lack of producing Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Senator Ejaz Chaudhry despite repeated production orders.
Leading House Session gave the Senate President that such an ignoring parliamentary authority cannot be allowed to persist uncontrolled, greeted by a down by the legislators.
Gilani had issued production orders for two PTI senators – Chaudhry and Aon Abbas Buppi – a day earlier, but the authorities only produced Bappi, which was recently arrested.
In his address to the Senate, Bappi expressed gratitude to the chairman of issuing his production order. He revealed that about 20 people entered about 20 people into his house, attacked his factory and harassed him.
He informed the house that some individuals were forcibly entering his bedroom during surgery, assaulting him and demanding his cellphone.
He was then presented to a judge who asked about the charges against him. Bappi said he was accused of chasing five deer.
He expressed his disappointment and said that he rather than feel relieved to be presented in the Senate was more horrified that Senator Chaudhry had still not been brought to parliament despite the production order.
He complained that the President’s orders had once again been ignored, claiming that his own production order was only enforced to place Gilani when the authorities feared he would not president for the session otherwise.
Bappi demanded further cancellation of his production order and said his desire to return to prison. He promised not to take part in the case unless Chaudhry was also brought to the Senate, adding that he would only seek release through proper legal channels.
When the PTI senator tried to go out after completing his speech, President Gilani stopped him and issued the decision.
