Northwestern Hazing Scandal: Ex-Football players Settle Trial with School, Ex-Head Trainer

The group of former northwestern footballers reportedly agreed to conduct their lawsuits against the school, as alleged obscurity and violent behavior.

The former players agreed to drop all claims against both northwestern and ex-head coach Pat Fitzgerald as part of the settlement, Bloomberg reported.

Fitzgerald was suspended by Northwestern in July 2023 after an ex-player of his reported alleged fog in November 2022.

A statement was released on Tuesday by Fitzgerald’s lawyers, Dan Webb and Matthew Carter, who focused on evidence that their client “did not commit any wrongdoing.” Fitzgerald is also moving forward with his wrongful notice of termination against Northwestern.

“Coach Fitzgerald learned yesterday that Northwestern University and certain former northwestern footballers have concluded a global conciliation agreement to reject all the demands of the players against Northwestern and Coach Fitzgerald,” the lawyer’s statement via the interior zone reads.

Ex-Northwestern football coach Pat Fitzgerald sues the University of Urbious termination due to scandal scandal

“While the settlement resolves the claims that the players have made, Coach Fitzgerald’s claim against northwestern remains. He continues to claim that Northwest illegally terminated his employment, violating an oral contract and honoring him, causing significant damage to his sterling reputation.”

Fitzgerald was originally suspended two weeks in 2023, but he released a statement in which he claimed he had no knowledge of ambiguity. Northwestern players even released a statement defending their coach, while Schill admitted he might have been wrong to suspend Fitzgerald.

But several former players came up with racism -charges, which ultimately led to Schill being changed Fitzgerald hero.

Fitzgerald filed an unlawful trial months after his firing and claimed that he and Schill reached an oral agreement that he would have no further punishment from the university after the two-week suspension.

Fitzgerald sought $ 130 million in compensation as part of his trial.

His next court date in his lawsuit against Northwestern is currently scheduled for November 3, 2025.
