Penn State returned to State College, Pennsylvania, and then after jumping back from last week’s troubled loss against UCLA Bruins. But the northwestern wildcats had other plans on Saturday.

Wildcats, which run back Caleb Komolafe, sprinted in 72 yards and scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter to help lift Northwestern to a 22-21 win at Beaver Stadium. The narrow victory secured Northwestern’s third win in a row, while Penn State fell its third straight.

“I really think our football team expected to win today,” said northwestern coach David Braun. “In the end, the message was that you have a football team that has got your back against the wall, but also a football team that may question who they are.”
