Get ready to watch Taylor Swift smash another streaming record, everyone, because two new projects are set to land on Disney+ on Friday, December 12.
Beyond The Eras Tour | The last showdocumenting the final Eras Tour show that took place in Vancouver last year is also there Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The end of an era to look forward.
What you need to know about Taylor Swift’s final Eras show and docu-series
Look at
It’s safe to say that The end of an era will not be a warts-and-all reveal of anyone or anything. As you know if you’ve seen Swift’s Folklore documentary (FYI, it’s also on Disney+), big pop stars’ expensively produced documentaries don’t.
Instead, expect a fairly glossy campaign exercise that will give you an insight into how the trip was staged and why everyone involved had the best time ever. That’s no bad thing either: this is a show for the fans, so why not cater to them?
Nevertheless, I think The Eras Tour |The Final Show becomes much more interesting to most of us. The previous film – it’s one of my favorite concert films of all time – was shot before ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, Swift’s latest LP, was released and before its songs were added to the tour’s playlist. One of December’s new Disney+ movies includes songs from said album, so it will be fascinating to see how they’ve been interpreted for the stage.
As Swift wrote on Instagram: “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven through it as it wrapped up, and to film the final show in its entirety.”
As mentioned, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The last show coming to one of the world’s best streaming services on December 12 at 12:00 PM PT / 3:00 AM ET / 8:00 AM GMT. Sections 1 and 2 of The end of an era will be released on the same day, with two more batches of two episodes arriving on December 19 and 26.
