Nothing has found itself in a surprising situation as Demo devices by Nothing Phone 3 have shown stock photos – taken with professional cameras – and listed them as shot by the phone itself 3.
A photographer behind one of these pictures confirmed this to the brim, but while you could easily jump to the conclusion that this was intentionally deception from nothing, it seems more likely it was an accident.
To talk about the incident on x, nothing co -founder Akis Evangelidis has said that this situation was an “unfortunate supervision” and that there was no “bad intention”.

They explained that an initial version of the Nothing Phone 3 -Demo units had to be submitted with placeholder pictures about four months before the launch so that the demo units could be implemented and tested in time.
The intention was then to replace the placeholder photos with photo trips when Nothing Phone 3 entered mass production, but for whatever reason that steps did not happen with some demo devices.
Evangelidis also said the company “is investigating internally to ensure that such a problem does not happen again.”
A skilled camera
We tend to believe in this explanation, not least because Nothing Phone 3 seems perfectly capable of taking impressive photos.
While we have not yet put it through a full review, some Samples laid on X certainly look conspicuous. So there should have been no real need to try deception, especially with the risk of being caught.
So hopefully this situation does not inhibit the impression of what seems to be a very interesting phone, with a design unlike others.
