The National Security Committee (NSC) has heavily condemned Israel’s aggression, which threatened to ignite a wider conflict and confirmed Iran’s right to self -defense.
President of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif convened NSC on Monday in Islamabad to assess the developing regional security situation following Israeli military aggression and US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
In a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, NSC expressed deep regret that the Israeli strikes came at a time when constructive negotiations between Iran and the United States were underway.

“These ruthless actions have escalated tensions and threatened to ignite a broader conflict and reduce the possibilities of dialogue and diplomacy,” the statement states.
The committee confirmed Iran’s right to self -defense, as described in the United Nations Charter, and called on all relevant parties to exercise restraint and return to diplomatic channels.
It further emphasized the importance of maintaining international humanitarian and human rights laws and called to stop hostilities through peaceful means.

NSC offered compassion for the Iranian government and people over the loss of innocent life and wanted a quick improvement for the wounded.
The committee also expressed serious concern about the US military strikes in Iranian nuclear locations in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan on Sunday and called them violation of IAEA decisions, international law and the UN -Charter.

NSC approved Pakistan’s readiness to further continue efforts and initiatives aimed at promoting regional peace and stability, the statement concluded.
The meeting was held in the middle of escalating turmoil in the Middle East, triggered by Israeli’s attack on Iran and was further intensified by the recent American strikes in Tehran’s nuclear places.
‘Operation Midnight’
On Sunday, the United States bombed three Iranian nuclear sites-fordow, Natanz and Isfahan-at Help of the American Air Force’s B-2 Spirit Stealth bomber.
The United States launched 75 precision-controlled ammunition including bunker-buster bombs and more than two dozen Tomahawk missiles against three Iranian nuclear places, the chairman of the joint staff chiefs, General Dan Caine announced.
Iran condemned the attack and responded with a barrier of missiles aimed at Israeli targets, injured civilians and caused considerable destruction in Tel Aviv.
