Islamabad:

Pakistan’s civil and military leadership meets in an emergency on Monday (today) to discuss the united states’ strikes on Iran in a water change development that has put the world on an unprotected path with far -reaching consequences.

Islamabad was quick to condemn the US strikes as a clear violation of international law and the UN -Charter, while severely rejected reports of any participation in the attack. Officials said that neither Pakistan’s airspace nor any other facility was used by the United States to carry out very controversial strikes.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also spoke with the Iranian president and repeated Pakistan’s condemnation of the US strikes in three nuclear places in Iran. Shehbaz will also president over the meeting in the High-Powered National Security Committee (NSC).

The NSC meeting – must be attended by senior booth members and military and intelligence managers – will take status over the situation. The primary agenda on the table will be how to develop the country’s strategy based on the brewing crisis.

Sources said on Sunday that Pakistan’s attitude was unambiguous, even when Israel launched strikes over Iran a direct since. Pakistan was against such an unprovoked and ruthless act from Israel, according to sources.

It was because of this reason that Pakistan was at the forefront of condemning the Israeli strikes and expanding full diplomatic support for Iran. Islamabad took a clear attitude towards the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), condemned Israel and said Iran reserved the right to answer.

There was no difference in the Pakistani attitude as the United States completed unprecedented strikes in Iranian nuclear places. Pakistan was facing a difficult situation when, just a day ago, it formally nominated US President Donald Trump to Noble Prize for his role in the mediation of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

The sources said that Pakistan’s steps were aimed at encouraging Trump to pursue diplomacy over the use of force. However, this gamble did not pay himself. Nevertheless, this did not deter the foreign office from issuing a strong statement against the United States.

“Pakistan condemns the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities that follow the series of attacks by Israel. We are seriously concerned about the possible further escalation of tensions in the region,” the Foreign Office’s statement reads.

“We repeat that these attacks are violating all norms of international law and that Iran has the legitimate right to defend itself under the UN Charter,” said it, adding that the unprecedented escalation of tension and violence due to the ongoing aggression against Iran was deeply disturbing.

“Any further escalation of tension will have severe harmful consequences for the region and beyond. We emphasize the imperative need to respect civilian lives and real estate and immediately bring the conflict to the end.”

The Foreign Office emphasized that all parties must comply with international law, especially the international humanitarian law. According to the declaration, the use of dialogue, diplomacy remained in line with the principles of the UN Charter only viable path to resolve the crises in the region.

Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz held a detailed telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and conveyed Pakistan’s condemnation of the U -attacks that followed Israel’s unprovoked and unjustified aggression in the past eight days.

Prime Minister Shehbaz confirmed Pakistan’s “unwavering solidarity” with the fraternity people and Iran’s government, while expressing heartfelt compassion for the loss of precious life and asked for the rapid improvement of the wounded.

The Prime Minister expressed concern that the US strikes had targeted facilities under the protection measures of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). These attacks constituted a serious violation of international law and the IAEA statute.

While noting Iran’s right to self-defense, as laid down in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, Shehbaz emphasized the need for an immediate return to dialogue and diplomacy. He also called for urgent collective efforts to step down the situation.

The Prime Minister repeated Pakistan’s readiness to play a constructive role in this context. Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s support for Iran and thanked the prime minister, the government and the population of Pakistan, including the military leadership, to stand in solidarity with Iran.

The two leaders emphasized the need and it is urgent to forge unity among Ummah at this critical time. The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact.
