Islamabad:
Following the decision to provide a further basic salary to Capital Development Authority employees from class 1 to 16 on the occasion of Eidul Azha, the CDA chairman has also approved a similar fee for a basic salary for all Muslim officers in Class 17 and above.
The decision will also apply to contract and daily salary employees, and an official notification has been made in this regard. In addition, CDA board members who are on deputation agreements will also be the recipient of additional basic wages.
Sources reveal that the extra salary payments for all CDA employees and officers at Eidul Azha will cost the authority approx. RS365.5 million, with RS235m awarded to employees in grades 1-16 and RS30m for officers in grade 17 and above.
It is reported that CDA has become particularly lucrative for officers who are deputy from various departments, especially board members. More noteworthy, officers who are deputy to CDA are also plot in Islamabad’s D-block sector after six months of service, despite the fact that CDA employees are only eligible for a plot after completing at least 10 years of service.
Sources emphasize that there are various eligibility standards for permanent CDA employees and those on deputation. This difference makes CDA postings very desirable among senior officers from other departments.
A senior officer in Capital Development Authority (CDA) shared an interesting office order that revealed that more than six nurses from Capital Hospital earning in BS-17 to 19 visited the Office of Member Financing in the CDA headquarters two days ago. The nurses requested that, like employees from BS-1 to 15, they also received an extra basic salary as Eid Honorary.
Instead of their request being considered, the nurses were accused of violating the department’s discipline and a formal department was ordered against them. This action was taken despite the fact that the CDA had already officially approved the fee for all officers in Class 17 and above before the issue of the investigation order.
Given this approval, although the disciplinary act originally had any basis, accepted the nurse’s request the examination unjustified and moot.
The CDA chairman could not be reached to his version despite repeated attempts.
