Nvidias RTX 5090 has run in trouble with the latest graphics driver
There are several reports that GPUs are no longer recognized by PCs after the driver is installed
The problem could be wrapped in PCIE 5.0 Compatibility
Nvidia’s new graphics driver, which brings support for the RTX 5090 and 5080 GPUs, has created problems with games ,.
We should clarify right from bats that the spectrum of cable that melts, as famously affected RTX 4090, is not a thing With the RTX 5090 despite some rumors recently circulated. These reports totally got the wrong end of the stick (or power connection rather).
These fresh Bugbears apparently affect the RTX 5090 is mostly about the fact that GPU is not working (not recognized by the PC), in addition with a requirement that two of these NVIDIA graphics cards have been walled (sent on Goofish). Apparently, part of the problem here is a ‘very small probability’ of internal components ‘burning’, although the translation may well be a problem here, I should notice. Furthermore, we should be very careful about the special anecdotal reports at this time (I’ll be back to it soon).
When Videocardz marked up, these problems have apparently hit some RTX 5090 buyers, and also those who have bought an RTX 5090 D into Asia (the variant of the flagship made for that region).
While almost all of these reports have emerged in Asia – appearing on similar by Chiphell, Baidu and Bilibili, which WCCFTECH noticed – and involves graphics card manufacturers such as Manli or colorful, there are two reported problems on Reddit from owners of an ASUS RTX 5090 (it Original poster and a follow -up requirement in that thread).
It is worth noting that the RTX 5080 graphics card are not affected by these apparent problems.

Analysis: PCIE Compatibility fluctuates?
What’s going on here? Well, it is a difficult one to unpick, and so far we have to give the Nvidia the benefit of the doubt, at least regarding the stories of the RTX 5090 graphics card that somehow fried – take it with one with one with one whole pile of spices.
However, the problems with the new graphics driver that causes the RTX 5090 not to be recognized by the system certainly seems very real. In fact, this problem was observed in some reviews of the flagship and it is something that could be wrapped in PCIe 5.0 compatibility.
The solution for some, as noticed in the Reddit wire with the ASUS RTX 5090, is to go to BIOS and fall down to PCIE 4.0 instead. Yes, it means a small loss of performance, but it is not that big drop (and it will only be temporary hopefully as when things are ironed out, you will be able to switch back).
However, this fall to PCIE-4.0 plan does not help everyone, and the trick did not work for the RTX 5090 owned by the original poster on Reddit. They have had to send their board back to Nvidia, with Team Green, who is now investigating the problem, we are told.
This is still one to keep an eye on for the time being. Of course, with there are very few RTX 5090 graphics cards out there – due to severely limited stock – there are probably no problems that are so far reported.
We have reached Nvidia to see if the company can shed light on this matter and will update this story with any answer.
