- Nvidia’s new Game Ready Driver 572.83 still causes the same black screen problem from previous versions
- The new driver update adds support to new games and RTX 5000 series Notebooks
- The problem may occur when installing the driver or when you start in Windows 11 when using a DisplayPort
It’s another day, and another case that many NVIDIA RTX GPU users get frustrated, with game -ready driver updates that cause several problems – and that’s a problem, especially it can’t be shaken off after several Team Green resolution attempts.
Once again, Nvidia’s Game Ready is causing black screen problems for some users – and it is the new driver 572.83 that is the guilty based on complaints of Nvidia’s Reddit page. A black screen can remain after installing the new driver (using a display port), which gets a hard reboot with the same error that occurs on Windows login screen.
This is a recurring problem that appears to have begun with Nvidia’s Game Ready Driver 572.16, which was the official roll -out of DLSS 4. I initially thought the problem came from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Or Windows 11 24H2 (which is notorious for strange bugs), but it was actually the GPU driver.
This update provides support for RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 TI Notebooks and also adds DLSS 4 breach of titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and The last of us part 2. Unfortunately, these additions are important for the functionality of the Blackwell GPU notebooks, so installing the new driver is a risk that some may need to take.
It is reportedly not exclusive to the new RTX 5000 series GPUs, as Redditors, which uses older RTX GPUs, has expressed similar complaints. For those who were not lucky enough to avoid these problems, it may be ideal to roll your drivers back to those who are more stable based on your configuration.

This is an important setback for new game support and new GPU owners
While I and many RTX GPU users have the chance to roll back drivers, it’s not the same case for others. As I have said, the Game Ready -Driver updates as such required For functionality, especially with new RTX 5000 GPUs or notebooks driven by them – and that’s a lot about.
I look forward to starting Ubisofts Assassin’s Creed ShadowsUsing DLSS 4 for its improved framework generation technology and its incredible new super resolution via DLS’s infringement – without updating to Driver 572.83, this is not possible. Potential harmful problems for my hardware are not something I want to gamble with, just to enjoy larger visuals (thanks to the new transformer model) and performance.
It is definitely a setback for those affected and I am concerned that we will not see a fix at any time soon. Nvidia still has Blackwell GPUs in the pipeline for launch, so we probably see similar driver updates – and if they are new to pass by, that’s another reason why you need to control far away right now.
