NEW Strands today (game #711) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #711, are…
- PIVOT NUMBER
- RISKY
- CRITICAL
- CRUCIAL
- SUBSIDIARY
- SPANGRAM: HIGHSTAKES
- My assessment: Hard
- My score: 1 tip
I’m sure people who spend their lives going to marketing meetings are very familiar with the kind of high performance language in this game, but it kind of wore me out. Usually with Strands, once I start the search, the momentum carries me forward and I work my way around the letters and find all the words.
Today was different. After watching PIVOTAL and RISKY, I had a good idea of what the theme meant, but I was still struggling to find other words.
Fortunately, a hint gave me CRITICAL, which helped me see “stake” and then “high” to form the HIGHSTAKES span frame.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Wednesday, February 11, Game #710)
- PECAN
- FILBERT
- PISTACHIO
- ALMOND
- CASHEW
- MACADAMIA
- SPAN FRAME: GONUTS
