Joe Burrow Foundation has interrupted ties with Hamilton County Municipal Judge Ted Berry after Ohio judge allegedly made festive comments on social media about the murder of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The fund that was founded by Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow released a statement Friday, announcing it had “terminated” a member of his advisory board.

“Their comments do not reflect our values or our mission. We are committed to accountability and respect for everyone.”

Berry was previously listed as a member of the Advisory Board of Directors on the foundation’s website. The statement did not name Berry or referred directly to Kirk’s killing. Pakinomist Digital reached out to the organization for a statement to clarify if Berry was completed.

Ohio State representative Adam Mathews shared the foundation’s statement on social media and confirmed to Pakinomist Digital Tuesday that Berry was the advisory board member ended by the foundation. The Republican legislator previously released a statement calling for the judge’s resignation after comments on social media, as Mathews said, celebrated Kirk’s killing “with vitriolic, racially charged and political language.”

“A judge must be a pillar of justice and impartiality in our society,” Mathews said. “Seeing a sitting judge’s post comments like ‘Rest in Had & Division!’, Ask ‘How is he doing with Pistoli and Pistol Control in Hell Now?’, And then celebrating the killer’s race by indicating ‘Then a white guy killed him! Color that karma!’ is shocking and completely unacceptable.

He continued, “this is not the construction of a neutral arbitrator of the law; it is the behavior of a political activist who has left the core principles of his office.”

Mathews warned that if Berry did not resign his position, he would file a formal complaint with the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel.

Berry that will retire in January 2026, told Cincinnati Enquirer That he does not “condolences any kind of violence against any human.”

“I’m sorry if I caused division,” he continued. “It wasn’t my intention. And I hope there can be peace.”

Berry could not be reached by Pakinomist Digital for comment. Hamilton County Democratic Party President Alex Lenses told Fox 19 that in response to Berry’s “disappointing and divisive comments,” the judge would not be recognized at an upcoming court event.

In a statement to Pakinomist Digital, Mathew’s lenses praised his response and renewed calls for the judge’s resignation.
