In light of escalating tension with India after the Pahagam attack, the federal government has directed oil companies and refineries to ensure maximum availability of diesel and jet fuel, reported on Friday.
Sources in oil marketing companies confirmed that the directive was issued shortly after the Pahagam event intensified the regional security environment.
The Directorate -General of Oil has instructed PSO and other importers to speed up petroleum imports and maintain high reserves to avoid delay disorder in emergency.
Oil refineries and marketing companies have been told to ensure copious amounts of high -speed diesel and jet fuel specifically.
Petroleum officials stated that the current fuel storage-inclusive aviation and transport quality fuel is sufficient but precautionary measures are implemented under emergency protocols.
Tensions between India and Pakistan are again increasing with fear of further escalation in the wake of the deadly Pahagam attack in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
India, in a one-sided step, the Indus Waters Treaty suspended, downgraded diplomatic relations, Pakistanis to leave India, and sealed Attari-Wagah boundary transition, stop civil movement and trade.
In response, Pakistan warned that any attempt from India to block water flow in Pakistan would be treated as an act of war. The statement followed a high-level NSC meeting, which also approved the closure of the Wagah boundary transition.
