Instead, there were clips that became viral on social media in the other team’s goalkeeper, making some sweet savings on McDavid’s shots.

Now it is worth noting that neither NHL All-Star was skating at full speed and trying to make their patented offensive wizard on the ice. However, they allegedly found themselves 4-0 after the first period and eventually lost the game, 6-2.

On-Ice officials at Rink were allegedly notified that the Oilers players should play by email. TSN.

McDavid spoke to ESPN who said it wasn’t his first time that jumped on the ice in this league that he used to play in during his junior hockey days. In fact, in 2023, he came by to play in the championship against a team that sports Quinton Byfield on their bench, Los Angeles Kings Star.

“It’s a league I played with with my friends for over 10 years now,” McDavid told ESPN. “We joined that league back when I played junior hockey. I was a little surprised to see it was blown up. I’ve been playing in these games for over a decade now. So it’s pretty funny that it just came up.”

Maybe McDavid and Draisaitl needed some good vibes with local players after another loss for Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup final.

They will try again in the 2025-26 season to defend their western conference title, and hope they can lift the Lord Stanley Cup instead of going home empty.

While Draisaitl is locked in Oilers for the future after inking an eight-year deal last year, McDavid is scheduled to become an unlimited free agent after this season.
