What do you call an Apple update that doesn’t work? A Tim Cook-up! I made it joke myself and I am very proud of it, but it’s time to become serious now: Apple’s AirPods Max Toss -free audio update was launching, not working properly, was delayed and working now and ready to install it.
The problem was with iOS 18.4, the latest version of iOS that contained the required code to update your AirPods max. Unfortunately, this code did not work properly and the update was not downloaded. Apple has solved the problem and also provided useful instructions on how to update your headphones.
To install the Tab Free Sound Update on Your AirPods Max
Here the instructions are directly from Apple.
- Make sure your iPhone, iPad or Mac is updated to the latest version of iOS, iPados or MacOS, and that Bluetooth is on
- Make sure your AirPods Max are connected via Bluetooth to your iPhone, iPad or Mac
- Connect your iPhone, iPad or Mac to Wi-Fi
- Put the charging cable in the lower right earphone, then put the other end of the cable in a USB charger or port
- Keep your AirPods Max in the Bluetooth series on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, and wait at least 30 minutes for the firmware to update
- Connect your AirPods Max again to your iPhone, iPad or MAC
- Check the firmwar version again and make sure it shows “7E101”
