Olympic Master Laura Dahlmeier dies in Pakistan Mountaineering accident

Laura Dahlmeier, a two-time Olympic gold medalhas died at the age of 31 as a result of her injuries from a mountaineering accident earlier this week.

The German bias was hit by falling rocks in northern Pakistan in the Karakoram Mountains.

Early rescue efforts were made to locate Dahlmeier, but were not successful due to bad weather and further risks of falling rocks – the distant location of the incident made an effort that was much more difficult.

“The news of the adoption of two-time Olympic ski master Laura Dahlmeier in a terrible mountaineering is deeply shocking to all of us in the Olympic movement. She lost her life in her beloved mountains,” IOC President Kirsty Coventry said in a statement.

“Laura made history on Pyeongchang 2018 winter -ol as the first female skiing to win sprint and pursue gold on the same game edition. She will be remembered forever. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very difficult time.”

According to Dahlmeier’s leadership, the accident took place at an altitude of nearly 19,000 feet.

A Pakistani Government spokesman said she “was removed by the locals from the landscape” per year. Reuters.

Dahlmeier surprisingly stepped away from professional competition in 2019. She cited the diminished her overall passion for playing sports in her retirement.

“After an incredibly tough season with lots of heights and low, I no longer feel the 100 percent passion needed for professional sports. This is why after a few long thought I decided to end my active skiing career,” Dahlmeier said in 2019, at the age of 25.

She earned gold medals in 2018 Winter -ol in pyeongchangWhere she made history as the first female ski shooting to win a sprint and persecution twice on the same games. She also won seven world championships.

Dahlmeier is also an Olympic bronze medal. She finished in third place in the 15 km individual event in the 2018 matches.
