A decision about the NFL -Piller’s participation in Olympic Games in 2028 Could come in the next few months, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday.
Talking on NFL’s annual spring meeting On Tuesday, Goodell said the interest in competing this summer -ol has been a hot topic in the league, adding a decision on the question could come soon.

“Well, I’ve heard directly from many players who want to participate and represent their country, whether it’s the United States or a country they came from,” he said. “I think this is something we continue to discuss with, not only the union but also the clubs. I think both are things that we will probably solve once in the next 60 days.”

Flag football debuts as an Olympic sport in Los Angeles In 2028. Interest from the NFL players was almost immediately after first being announced in 2023. Since then, the interest in the sport has been picked up all over the country, with both a woman’s and men’s tournament to be played on the games.

“I think the Olympics [are] A critical moment for us in the flag development on a global basis, ”Goodell added Tuesday.
“Listen, the Olympics is the highlight of international sports and that we can be able to participate in it – having both men’s and women’s flag teams attending all over the world – is a significant moment for us.”

The 2028 games will include four other new sports – baseball/softball, cricket, lacrosse and squash.
