Ondo to acquire regulated broker for tokenized warehouse launch

Tokenization platform ondo finance

Said it agreed to buy Oasis Pro, a regulated brokerage platform that laid the basis for rolling tokenized stocks in the coming months.

The acquisition whose price was not revealed would give Ondo a bundle of US securities licenses: a broker-dealer, alternatively trading system (ATS) And transfer agent regulated by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, says a company statement.

Tokenization companies have increasingly sought regulated devices to enter the US market as the interest in blockchain-based securities is hovering. Tokenization aims to bring traditional financial instruments such as bonds, shares and funds on chain that promise faster and 24/7 settlements, wider investor access and programmable transactions. Reports from Ripple, BCG, McKinsey and Standard Chartered have expected tokenized assets to scale into trillions of dollars in the next decade.

This year, UK-based ARCHAX Finra-regulated brokerage dealer Globacap acquired private markets to expand to the United States, and Prometheum also announced a broker-dealer acquisition and the transfer agent’s launch.

“This acquisition combines our brokerage platform and Licenses with Ono’s existing infrastructure and institutional products, a comprehensive foundation for a regulated tokenized securities copy system,” said Oasis Pro Ceo Pat Lavecchia, who is set to participate in Ondo when the acquisition closes.

Oasis Pro, founded in 2019, was one of the first US companies authorized to run digital securities in both Fiat and StableCecoins such as USDC and DAI. It also helped shape the regulatory policy through Finra’s Crypto Working Group.

Ondo, already managing over $ 1.4 billion in tokenized assets, said it is planning to roll out tokenized shares for non-American investors through its global market platform in the coming months. Exchanges, including Robinhood, Gemini, Kraken and Bybit, have introduced similar offers recently.

The deal is awaiting regulatory approval.
