The country’s religious scholars have issued a fatwa declaring three life-threatening activities – unicycling, kite flying and aerial shooting as un-Islamic, citing the sanctity of human life as paramount.

The fatwa states that any action that endangers life is against Islamic teachings, which prioritize the protection of human life.

Researchers described these activities as extremely dangerous and equated them with acts of self-harm.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran highlighted the fatalities associated with these practices and emphasized that Islam forbids acts that lead to self-destruction.

According to police records, 151 people have been arrested for unicycle driving and 150 cases registered for kite flying in just 20 days.

In addition, 118 perpetrators involved in shooting from the air have been imprisoned.

The police promised to continue strict efforts to curb these illegal and life-threatening activities. Parents were encouraged to discourage their children from engaging in such harmful behavior.

Kite flying and aerial shooting in particular have caused numerous injuries and deaths due to sharp kite strings and stray bullets.

Authorities and religious leaders called for community cooperation to maintain public safety and Islamic values.
