- OnePlus has shared display information for the upcoming OnePlus 13
- Highlights include an update frequency of 165Hz and 1.15 mm frames
- OnePlus 13 is expected to be launched in China before October 31
OnePlus 15 is on the way – the next flagship from the Chinese manufacturer of Android phones is expected to be launched in its domestic market soon, with Western and global markets likely to follow in the coming months.
PhoneArena suggests that OnePlus 15 will be launched in China in October 2025, and we are getting closer to the still non-confirmed release date that the company has shared key screen specifications in partnership with Sister Brand Oppo and Display Manufacturer Boe.
According to Gizmochina (via Gsmarena), OnePlus shared new official information on OnePlus 15’s display in a direct message.
OnePlus 15 will have a symmetrical 1.15 mm frame around the entire screen. As a reference, the iPhone 17 Pro Max has ultra -thin frame measuring 1.36 mm.
In addition, the OnePlus 15 supports an update speed of 165Hz, much higher than the OnePlus 13 and most of the best Android phones on the market. The standard of a modern flagship phone is 120Hz.
As a reference, update speed refers to how often a display draws the image on the screen. A faster update frequency makes the movement look smoother and makes moving details easier to analyze.
OnePlus also shared that the display will see an improvement of 13% in state with high brightness, which we assume means an increase in measured brightness and an improvement of 11.8% to the accuracy of color. The display is also TUV-Rheinland certified at least 1 nit of hardware lighting.
In addition, the display will allegedly consume 10% less power than OnePlus 13’s display with a 30% longer total component life. OnePlus is already known for class leading battery life, so this upgrade can lead to some truly impressive life.
The OnePlus 15 will also use Oppos P3 chip, a dedicated display controller that enables 1.3 microsecond pixel row charging time that Gizmochina reports is twice as fast as the industry’s average. This allows for better responsiveness and sustained brightness at faster update speeds.
Finally, it seems that images shared by OnePlus confirm that the OnePlus 15 will have a flat screen rather than the curved screen seen in previous generations. Current rumors suggest a screen size of 6.78 inches.
OnePlus 15 is formed to be a worthy successor to OnePlus 13, which is our current choice for the best Android phone. Be sure to tell us what you think about these display specifications in the comments below.
