- OnePlus has confirmed that OnePlus 15 launches globally
- The Chinese phone manufacturer also revealed a new true storm -edition of the new phone with a new material on the frame
- The phone is likely to be launched in China before other markets
OnePlus has confirmed that the newly revealed OnePlus 15 will launch globally and sports a whole new design and color setting labeled Sandstorm.
The company revealed the new phone in black during a recent Qualcomm event in China, but this is the first one we have heard of the new setting of sandstorm design. According to OnePlus, this is more than just a new colorway and adds microbue oxidation (MAO) to the frame and the camera body.
The MAO process creates a crystalline oxide layer on metals such as aluminum or titanium, which can offer additional protection against wear. OnePlus says this coating is 3.4 times harder than an aluminum in the middle of the frame and 1.3 times harder than a titanium in the middle of the frame.
In addition, the back of the phone will be made of fiberglass, an increasingly popular choice due to its light weight and strong resistance. It is not yet clear whether these design specifications will apply to all OnePlus 15 models, or just Sand Storm Edition.
Belief in its name comes the Sand Storm edition of OnePlus 15 in a picking Sandy Beige color -and although the design itself has not landed for the best reactions, I am a big fan of this subtle color.
Although OnePlus says the new phone will be launched globally, the new handset is likely to be launched on the company’s domestic market in China before going internationally, based on previous launches.
The current generation of OnePlus 13 is our choice for the best Android telephone money can buy (of course it also ranks it as the best OnePlus phone). Its quick performance, excellent cameras and ridiculous battery life so that it shoots to the top of our location when it was released internationally at the beginning of 2025.
So OnePlus 15 has some big shoes to fill. We haven’t got full specifications for the new phone yet, but we know it will have the next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-chipset and OnePlus’ new detail-max-image treatment engine.
