As promised last week, Openai has now launched its latest O3-MINI AI model for users on all Chatgpt plans, including Free Tier. The new model results in improved reasoning functions, especially in mathematics, coding and science.
The O3-Mini Refresh “promotes the limits of what small models can achieve,” says Openai, and it seems to react 24% faster than the O1-mini model it replaces. According to external testers, O3-MINI answers are preferred rather than O1-mini response 56% of the time and includes 39% fewer errors.
As with O1-mini, this reasoning AI model shows its work over its answers-so you can control the ‘thoughts’ involved. You can also combine this reasoning with web searches if necessary, although this integration is still in its early stages.
