San Francisco: US-based AI Company Anthropic, a rival to Openai, has launched what it claims is its most advanced artificial intelligence model so far along with good news about a tool that offers premium coding help to software developers.
Together with Claude 3.7 Sonnet, the San Francisco-based company is made available in a limited research example, a digital “agent” called Claude Code tailored to be a tool for software developers.
Amazon-supported anthropic Monday described Claude Code as able to search and read code, editing files, running tests and more.
The release comes as AI companies push new products out at a fast pace, with innovations quickly reproduced by rivals, often at a lower price. This has raised concerns about ensuring a return on the massive investments being made.
Anthropic’s new model is “much stronger in coding, and especially by taking over and performing really complicated coding tasks,” the anthropic co -founder and Chief Science Officer Jared Kaplan told AFP.
Apart from the overall improved intelligence, the latest iteration of Claude has a “hybrid” reasoning model that allows users to receive quick answers to questions or have it spend time mulling over complex queries and sharing the steps in the process, according to Kaplan .
The improvement allows Claude to better follow the instructions and handle more sophisticated analyzes, he added.
Since Openai released Chatgpt at the end of 2022, the race has been to lead in a technology that predicted to change the way people live and work.
AI models have moved in addition to generating images, videos or written content for the delivery of “agents” that specialize in specific fields or tasks.
Openai released a version of Chatgpt for approx. Six months ago, sharing its “thinking” process, but anthropically followed by enabling its claude model to command computers as humans do.
Openai replied with the recent release of his first AI agent, called Operator, with similar capabilities.
Anthropic, founded in 2021 by former Openai employees, and its Arch-Rival strives to stand out in an increasingly crowded market.
“We try very hard to make model improvements that are grounded in customer problems,” said the anthropic head of product manager Mike Krieger.
“When it’s just newer, better, faster, it’s not so effective; we’re trying to listen to what people say and make sure the next model serves these needs.”
Amazon has invested a total of $ 8 billion in anthropic, while Google-Parent Alphabet has invested $ 2 billion in start-up.
