In response to India’s unprovoked attack on the Pakistani territory of India, the Pakistani army has launched a military operation, named Bunyan Ul Marsoos, targeting several Indian military installations.

Pakistan’s offensive came shortly after it said India had fired missiles at three air bases earlier hours on Saturday – including a close to the capital, Islamabad, but Pakistani air defense captured most of them.

Locked in a long -standing dispute over Kashmir, the two countries have been involved in daily clashes since Wednesday when India launched strikes inside Pakistan. Pakistan promised to retaliate.

The name of the operation, Bunyan Ul Marsoos, is drawn from a verse of the Holy Qur’an, which means “a wall constructed of melted lead”, symbolizing strength, solidarity and imperviousness.
