Opposition leaders meet former Prime Minister Abbasi

ISLAMABAD:

Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the leader of an alliance of opposition parties, has condemned the conviction of former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in a corruption case, announcing that they will approach all forums against the accountability court’s order.

Addressing the media after a meeting with Awaam Pakistan party leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the federal capital, Achakzai said the court’s verdict in the £190 million case was reprehensible.

“The PTI founder [Imran Khan] can get out of jail today by assuring the government that he will not do anything about it. However, we do not need such freedom. We will win this war through public support,’ said the politician.
