- Oscal tank 1 blends extreme endurance with technical claims that feel weird
- Oscal’s figure “48 GB RAM” blends real memory with virtual expansion storage
- Powered by Dimensity 7050 Processor and Runs DOKEOS 4.2 built on Android 15
Oscal Tank 1 is a robust smartphone built for extreme conditions that combine a massive 20,000 mAh battery, reinforced construction and ambitious performance requirements.
Designed for users who work or travel in demanding environments, it offers 5G connection, a triple camera system with night vision and a double-display layout built for outdoor visibility.
Still, the most discussed feature is the claim of “48 GB of RAM”, a figure that may not completely reflect physical hardware.
Built to demanding environments
OSCAL Tank 1 comes with a 6.78-inch 2.4K screen rated at 700 NITs and 120Hz, supported by a smaller rear screen for quick updates.
The high update speed and brightness suggest that the screen is built for clear outdoor visibility, a necessary function for users working in harsh environments.
Under the cap, this unit is driven by Medatek Dimensity 7050 processor and runs DOKEOS 4.2 based on Android 15.
It also integrates AI tools for creating content and image processing, features that may prove to be useful for users who need to edit visuals or analyze data directly in the field.
The Triple camera array includes 64MP, 50MP and 20MP sensors with night vision support for low light environments.
On paper, this combination promises versatility across lighting conditions, but the true performance depends on how well its treatment software works.
Oscal claims that the tank 1 can last up to 1,080 hours on standby or several days of active use, supported by 55W quick charging designed to provide fast top-ups.
Such an endurance could benefit field workers or travelers far from power sources, but it raises practical concerns about the phone’s bulk and heat management.
Housing such a large cell may make the device heavier than standard models, which places it closer to the size of a sturdy tablet instead of the best smartphone for daily use.
The device’s most controversial claim is its “48 GB LPDDR5 RAM”, as it appears that only part of this number actually represents hardware, with the rest obtained through virtual expansion using part of the internal storage.
This technique can help manage multiple apps at once, but cannot repeat the speed or stability of real RAM.
Without clear communication from Oscal, the real memory configuration remains uncertain.
The company promotes idea 1 as able to survive severe weather, deep water and strong influence. It shows the IP68 and IP69K rates, MIL-STD-810H certification and tolerance for ten meters of drops, two meters of immersion and press up to 1,200 kg.
The phone is also said to work in temperatures between -50 ° C and 70 ° C.
Oscal Tank 1 is scheduled for release on October 20th. The sale begins on Amazon and it is priced at € 379.99 for 12 GB + 256 GB model and € 399.99 for 16 GB + 512 GB variant.
The specifications sound promising, but until the device is tested independently, it is still uncertain whether this robust smartphone can really deliver its requirements.
