- Oura Ring moves ‘Oura Advisor’ out of beta
- The AI-Pedded Wellness Advisor Launched in Beta in July 2024
- It works with the classic Oura -tracking experience by letting you ask about data points and getting more context
I have carried an Oura ring daily for well over three years at this time, and one of the best parts of the experience that holds me back is excellent, accurate data that is always contextualized.
Thanks to my sleep score, I know how well I slept the night before, how I look forward to the coming day and how I can track my activity all day. It is quite practical and helps to make the entire health and activity tracking experience a little more action.
That’s why I was so fascinated when Oura announced a beta Ai-driven wellness chatbot, Oura Advisor, in July 2024. I have used it lots since it was launched in beta, and apparently many other Oura users have so too. It is now ready for primetime as the Wellness brand makes it a full feature in the app for paying members.
I’ve used it quite a bit during its beta -testing period -the company has called its Beta program Oura Labs -and I like how it can supplement the regular Oura experience. Do you have a question about your contingency results or do you want to give more context for why you were a little less active? The AI adviser can tell you.
You can chat with Oura Advisor by writing things out, and it can even make recommendations for activities to help. Although, of course, it is not a doctor with any software or AI-driven health function.
However, it is designed to be a conversation, controlled on your directive, about your health – combines the data traced in Oura and the company’s scientific models with generative AI.
In the full release, Oura raises the experience, which makes me more excited to try it even more. First, rather than just referring to a trend it could have picked up – more active on a given day – it can also pull up visuals and give them in response. In addition to just pulling up a diagram, Oura says that adviser now has ‘trend detection’ that allows it to quickly pull data and access metric base lines or learned detected trends.
Oura’s expanding advisor’s memory feature promises that in addition to remembering something explicitly, you say it says you are about to get you after an injury, and it will better weave information from previous chats to the current one. While repeating a movie or a Disney -Temapark, Oura promises it will be a more coherent story or conversation.
When you create Oura advisor, you will still have three styles to choose from-supporting, mentoring or targeted-but it is now dynamic, enabling the generated answers to be more empathetic, happy or even determined on the go. It will be interesting to see how much improvement this offers the service I tested in beta.
As in the Oura Labs test period, you can set messages to remind you to interact with adviser or pull it up on-demand when you’re in the Oura app for iOS or Android. In its full-launch state, adviser is available globally in English.
While the feature was in Beta under Oura Labs, the company says 60% of people who signed up for counselor used it several times a week and 20% used it daily. I am in the former of this group, but these changes could make me call the advisor a conversation more.
