Islamabad:
On the directives of PM Shehbaz Sharif, the process of selling outdated, non-operational and useless power plants from the four state-owned power production companies has begun through auction.
The auction will be held on May 19 at the Genco Holding Company Office in Islamabad from 9 to 17. Officials have assured that the process will be transparent and impartial. Representatives from all four public sector power production companies participate.
Stakeholders and media are specially invited to ensure transparency. The move reflects the government’s obligation to reform in the electricity sector and transparent privatization.
