Lahore:
At least 4.111 people have been deported from Punjab, including Lahore, as part of a coordinated effort by local authorities to tackle illegal immigration.
A spokesperson for the Punjab police reported that over 5,950 illegal immigrants have been transferred to possession centers, while 1,839 remain at these facilities. Currently, there are 46 possession centers established throughout the province, including five located in Lahore.
Inspector of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that all illegal immigrants will be sent back without exception.
He said security measures are increased during the evacuation process and that human rights are strictly observed throughout the operation.
Dr. Usman Anwar has directed City Chief Police Officer (CCPO) from Lahore, regional police officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOS) to speed up the evacuation process for illegal immigrants.
He also highlighted the importance of mapping, scanning and screening of these persons under established procedures to ensure a systematic approach to the operation.
This crash on illegal immigration reflects the provincial government’s obligation to maintain law and order while ensuring the protection of human rights under the enforcement of these measures.
