Over 600,000 lives saved through joint efforts, says Maryam

Punjab chief minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday praised the relentless efforts of district commissioners, police, rescue teams and the Pakistani army in mitigating the flooding animal and instructing authorities to take proactive measures to help the victims.

She spoke at a meeting with District Commissioners in Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) headquarters, and instructed members of the provincial assembly to visit their respective constituencies and personally contact people to find out if they are receiving the required help and help.

“We have witnessed a remarkable teamwork in Punjab,” she said, recognizing the combined efforts of the army and various agencies that helped save over 600,000 lives.

The minister mentioned that the province was facing the worst flood crises due to continuous rain and release of water from nearby India. However, the timely evacuation of the residents was a remarkable performance of the combined rescue teams.

She said emergency relief facilities for flood victims were underway around the clock, adding that the largest rescue operation in Pakistan’s history had been performed in Punjab.

The Minister of Ministry praised the efforts of local officials, especially the Deputy Commissioner of Narowal, for quick cleaning of Kartarpur Gurdwara, who was facing heavy floods.
