San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. made a heroic effort to save a home drive on Tuesday night against Cincinnati Reds.
Reds Catcher Tyler Stephenson was up at the record with a runner on first and Cincinnati up in two races at the top of the fourth lap. He drove a pitch from Michael King out to the right field. Tatis began to trace the ball almost instantly.

Tatis came to the warning track, jumped and got the incredible catch in front of Padre’s faithful. He almost picked up the double game as well. He was 0-for-3 with a walk at night.
“He made a hell of a spectacle and he’s a hell of an athlete,” he said via mlb.com.
However, Stephenson eventually had the last laughter.

He hit a two-run home drive in the ninth round-this time to the left field-to give the Reds lead and the 4-2 win over Padres. He was 1-for-4 at night. The home run was his 10th in the season.
The Reds drew within three matches of the New York Mets to the final wildcard site in the National League. Cincinnati is 73-72 this season.

San Diego fell to 79-66 and are two matches behind Los Angeles Dodgers for the National League West Crown. They are three games in front of Mets for the other Joker sign.
