Paige Spiranac wants controversial puting routine prohibited

Golfinfluener Paige Spiranac has declared an attitude towards a warm debate on the course.

Aimpoint, a method of finding a put line on the green, has been criticized by those who do not use it, saying it affects the pace of the game on the PGA Tour.

Spiranac is in the camp after what she saw on the LPGA tour -a player who reviews their Aimpoint -Rutine a foot from the hole.

“Ban AIM Point,” Spiranac published on X over a photo of the LPGA Tour player.

Slow games have been a controversial topic in golf recently, especially with rounds in tournaments such as Farmers Insurance Open, which takes almost six hours to complete.

PGA Tour golfer Lucas Glover said on Siriusxm due to Tour Radio that although it is not proven that Aimpoint causes these pace in play problems on the course, it may take too long to get reading and the results are not better than other methods.

Tiger Woods has Mixup with TGL teammates leading to the fun moment: ‘What are you doing?’

“Aimpoint Statistical hasn’t helped anyone do more putts since the start of the PGA Tour, statistics have carried it out,” Glover said.

Glover also pointed out how the method requires players to go near the hole and drive back to the ball.

“It’s also kind of rude to be up near the hole and stomp around and find out where the break is in your feet. It has to be banned. It takes forever,” he said.

However, there are others who believe that if Aimpoint was adopted by more, the game would move faster.

“It would speed up the game as it takes an average of 10 seconds to read,” Europe’s senior director Jamie Donaldson told Golf Monthly.

Collin Morikawa, who uses Aimpoint, heard what Glover had to say and retorted with a proposed ban on “Long Putters” used by the latter.

Currently, PGA will continue to allow Aimpoint, but the pace of the game will continue to be a hot topic that goes on.
