Pakistan adopts a new response to India

Islamabad:

Pakistan has set a ‘new normal’ of “a Quid-Pro-Qo-Plus response” whose India insists on his dangerous view of a limited war under the nuclear threshold, declared deputy and foreign minister Ishaq Dar on Monday, and called on New Delhi to consider his hubistic and misleading politics.

Dar, who spoke at an event to commemorate the 52th anniversary of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (Issi), emphasized that Pakistan as a ‘intermediate power’ and a key member of ‘Global South’ contributed to the causes of global peace, security and sustainable development.

Deputy Prime Minister said Pakistan’s foreign policy approach aimed to highlight the country’s pivot to Pakinomist -economy and confirm the government’s obligation to maintain international peace and security.

“One of the key principles that governs this foreign policy approach is to highlight Pakistan’s pivot to Pakinomist -economy,” Dar said. “The second core principle is our persistent obligation to international law, the United Nations Charter and non-centered multilateralism,” he added.

He emphasized the need to promote economic diplomacy as a key column in the country’s global commitment. He emphasized that improving trade, promoting foreign investment, attracting transfers and technology and forging development partnerships were among the highest priorities.

“In this way, foreign policy became the most important instrument to protect and promote Pakistan’s financial interests and to contribute significantly to the process of national development,” the Deputy Prime Minister told the event.

About the recent global turbulence and transformation, Dar said that Pakistan, both as an intermediate power and a key member in the global south, contributed significantly to “the worthy causes of peace and security” as well as sustainable development.

Referring to India’s claims after the Pahagam attack and Prime Minister Narendra Modis ‘new normal’ doctrine of the use of militarily to Pakistan said Dar said Pakistan quickly retaliated for the Indian escalation with a “Quid-Pro-Quo-Plus” response in May.
