Pakistan Army destroys Afghan Taliban -tanks, positions in retaliatory attacks near the Kurram border: security sources

Days after a short period of tranquility along the Pak-Afghan border, fresh clashes broke out in the Kurram sector as Pakistani security forces retalized against unprovoked firing from the Afghan Taliban regime and members of the militant group “Fitna al-Khawarij,” confirmed security sources on Tuesday.

According to the sources, the Afghan Taliban fighters opened unconscious fire in Pakistani positions, led to a strong and decisive response from the Pakistani army. The retirement ranks reportedly inflicted significant damage to several Taliban positions where fires break across the border.

Security officials said two Taliban tanks were destroyed and warriors were seen on the run from their positions, leaving several bodies of their fallen comrades. In one of the operations, a moving tank was just targeted and destroyed – described by sources as a “very professional and skilled strike.” Recordings of the broken tank are reportedly available.

The latest exchange followed a two-day break, with sources confirming that another Taliban post and tanker position was removed in the ongoing operations. In an intense commitment to Shamshad Post, the army destroyed a fourth tank position within an hour and emphasized the pace and intensity of the response.

Pakistan’s security forces also reportedly killed a key manager for Fitna al-Khawarij during the ongoing action. The militant warriors – both the Taliban regime and their affiliated companies – were said to be in a state of panic and disorder that gave up their positions in haste.

According to security officials, military operations continue against the Afghan Taliban and Fitna Al-Khawarij with full strength focusing on eliminating hostile threats near the border and ensuring regional security.

The renewed matches follow last week’s confrontation on the night of 11-12. October, when Afghan Taliban forces, supported by “Indian sponsored elements of Fitna al-Khawarij, launched an unprovoked attack along the border.

In response to what it called a “Feig act,” the Pakistani army said that more than 200 Afghan Taliban fighters were killed in clashes overnight, while 23 Pakistani soldiers were martyrated, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The statement noted that the three -fever caused significant infrastructure damage to the Taliban positions, camps, headquarters and support networks “from tactical to operational depth along the border.”

“For the sake of Regional Peace and Security, Pakistan Taliban calls on the government to take rapid and verifiable measures to dismantle terrorist groups – including FAH, FAH and ISKP/DAESH – operating from Afghan Earth,” ISPR added.

Pakistan closed border crossings with Afghanistan on Sunday after the exchange of fire between forces on both sides.
