Pakistan asks Taliban to empty terror networks

Islamabad:

The Taliban regime should not allow its land to be used for terrorism against other countries, and it should focus on the formation of an inclusive and truly representative government instead of participating in groundless propaganda, spokesman for foreign office said Monday.

In a statement, he said, “We have noticed the recent statements by the spokesman for the Taliban regime of Pakistan’s internal affairs.”

“We strongly urge the Afghan spokesman to prioritize issues relevant to Afghanistan and refrain from commenting on cases outside their jurisdiction,” he said, adding, “The principle of non-interference in affairs in other countries must be complied with in accordance with international diplomatic norms. Pakistan does not require out of advice on his internal affairs.”

He said, “We also expect the Taliban regime to comply with its obligations and promises made to the international community during the Doha process.”

Requires restraint

The clashes have drawn attention from US President Donald Trump, who said he would soon focus on it. “I hear that there is now a war between Pakistan and Afghanistan,” Trump told journalists aboard the Air Force One as he flew from Washington to Israel on Sunday as part of his efforts to end the Gaza war.

“I said I’ll have to wait until I come back. You know I’m doing another because I’m good at solving wars I’m good at making peace,” Trump said.

UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres expressed concern on Monday’s concern over the weekend’s border clash between Pakistan and Afghanistan and called on the two neighboring countries to solve their differences peacefully.

“We are monitoring the situation between Afghanistan and Pakistan with concern,” said UN spokesman Farhan Aziz Haq in response to a question at the regular dinner briefing at the UN headquarters in New York.

“We want to make sure that the two countries are able to prepare their differences in a peaceful way and that further clashes are avoided,” added Farhan Haq.

China

Russia

Russia has followed with concern reports from border button between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and it has called on Kabul and Islamabad to exercise restraint, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday.

“According to the incoming information, the situation is stabilizing. We welcome this process,” added it in a statement.
