Pakistan, Azerbaijan to establish joint working groups

Islamabad:

Pakistan and Azerbaijan on Saturday agreed to establish joint working groups (JWGS), aiming to strengthen the bilateral connection and raise their relationship with a strategic financial partnership focusing on rail and trade infrastructure.

The announcement followed a high -level meeting held at the Ministry of Railways, with Prime Minister for Railways and Financing Bilal Azhar Kayani in the President.

The session brought together the most important stakeholders to explore ways to strengthen cross -border connections and promote mutual financial interests.

The prime minister repeated Pakistan’s regular obligation to improve railway -based trade relationship with Azerbaijan. He noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is actively pursuing a comprehensive strategy for the development and modernization of Pakistan Jernbaner.

The railway secretary gave a detailed orientation of Pakistan’s railway network, which highlighted its existing capacity and outlined prospects of future expansion to accommodate regional freight and logistics operations.

During the meeting, both sides also discussed the railway contract, which was inked between Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, which emphasized its importance to promoting regional connection.

The most important officials from various Pakistani ministries and departments attended a high -level meeting for the purpose of promoting bilateral connection between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, DPM/FM senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Foreign Minister for Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov on Saturday confirmed the strategic partnership between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with joint efforts to further strengthen the close and fraternal ties.

During a telephone conversation, they discussed areas of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation, spokesman for foreign office said in a press release.
