The United Nations:
Pakistan has called for “urgent and collective response” to the increase in hate opinion, disinformation and violent extremism and says such tales fracture society and danger of peace and stability.
“All this is targeted at people with different faiths, including Muslims, and also individuals based on race, gender and nationality,” Ambassador Asim IFTIKHAR Ahmad, a permanent representative of Pakistan, told the UN, to a high level marking International Day to counteract the hate speech.
He said Monday’s meeting served as a reminder of “our shared responsibility for addressing intolerance, maintaining dignity and protection of pluralism.”
