Pakistan on Monday emphasized the need to resolve the conflicts in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine by giving their people the opportunity to exercise the non-lawed right to self-determination.
“The principles of self-determination and the non-acquisition of territory through the use or threat of power are fundamental to maintaining the world order,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during a special meeting with OIC ambassadors in the UN.
“Respect for these principles is critical of achieving only solutions to both Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir-Test,” added Dar, who had arrived on Sunday afternoon to attend the UN Security Council’s high-level meeting on global governance and multilateralism.
He also said that the implementation of these principles in both conflicts is crucial to ending foreign occupation and ensuring freedom.
From the start, Dar Pakistan’s unwavering obligation to promote the common goals of the OIC at the UN confirmed.
He specifically expressed that Pakistan would continue to advocate for a fair and lasting peace in Palestine, calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, unobstructed humanitarian assistance and firm opposition to any effort aimed at displacing the Palestinian people.
Dar repeated Pakistan’s full support for the two-state solution and imagined a viable, sovereign state of Palestine based on borders before 1967, with al-QD’s al-Sharif as its capital.
DPM also confirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for the righteous struggle for the Kashmiri people and urged the international community to seek a peaceful decision to the IIOJK -Tvisten in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council’s decisions and Kashmiri’s wishes.
In addition, DAR expressed concern about reported Israeli threats of carrying out further attacks against Iran, stressing that such actions would pose a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.
“Despite hostile rhetoric, it is our hope that all parties will try to revive JCPOA (Iran Nuclear Deal) on reasonable conditions. This should contribute significantly to achieving durable peace and security throughout the Middle East, ”he added.
FM confirmed Pakistan’s support for the peaceful solution of conflicts affecting Muslim countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter.
He also emphasized the urgent need to fight Islamophobia and called for the rapid appointment of a UN’s special envoy in line with OIC’s collective efforts to counter this growing global trend.
DAR ended by emphasizing Pakistan’s strong commitment to working closely with OIC Member States during its security council period on all questions of mutual interest.
