Pakistan, China confirms commitment to regional peace

Pakistan and China repeated their commitment to regional peace and stability on Sunday, while jointly opposing one -sidedness and hegemonic policies.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar had a telephone conversation with Wang Yi, a member of the political agency for CPC Central Committee and the Chinese Foreign Minister to discuss the current regional situation.

The two leaders agreed to maintain close communication and coordination at all levels to promote their common goals of peace, security and sustainable development, Pakistan’s foreign office said.

Dar categorically rejected India’s “unilateral and illegal acts” and rejected what he described as “baseless propaganda” against Pakistan.

Dar expressed the appreciation of China’s “consistent and unwavering support”, Dar Pakistan’s commitment to the two countries’ iron -clad friendship and their common vision of a strategic cooperative partnership in the whole weather.

He also emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to further elaborate on bilateral cooperation across all sectors.

The conversation comes in the midst of increased regional tensions following the recent development of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Earlier this week, Pakistan warned that it would deliver a “company, fast and decisive” response to any Indian aggression after New Delhi unilaterally suspended the Indus Waters Treaty following a deadly attack in the Cashmir disputed.

The attack on April 22 in Pahaldam, IIOJK left 26 people died, mostly tourists.

India responded by suspending the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty, closing its borders, downgrading diplomatic ties and accusing Pakistan-without evidence-for cross-border terrorist support.

Pakistan has strongly denied any involvement and has threatened countermeasures, including the location of the Simla Agreement in Abeyance and the closure of its airspace for Indian flights.

In a Senate’s decision, lawmakers said Pakistan “remains fully capable and prepared to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression,” with reference to previous military answers as a precedent.

The Senate also warned that any Indian Misadventure would be met with a decisive response while confirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and support for Kashmiris’ right to self -determination.
