Pakistan has heavily condemned “unjustified and false aggression” by Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran in a statement delivered under a UN Security Council’s Briefing on Regional Security.

Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s permanent representative of the United Nations, said on Saturday that Israeli’s military strikes in Iranian territory violated international law and posed a serious threat to peace and stability in the region.

“Pakistan stands in resolute solidarity with the fraternal people in Iran,” he said. “We offer our sympathy and compassion for the loss of life and injuries caused by these abominable attacks.”

Ambassador Ahmad, who called the strikes a clear violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, said they were contrary to both the UN -Charter and the basic principles of international law.

“We unequivocally condemn these obvious provocations, which pose a serious danger and a serious threat to peace, security and stability throughout the region and beyond,” he said.

He also emphasized Iran’s inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

At least three people were killed and 91 wounded in Iran’s retaliatory missile attack on Israel late Friday, Anadolu Agency reported.

The retaliatory councils followed Israeli attacks on Iran that targeted military and nuclear places across Iran, killing senior Iranian generals and nuclear scientists. Iran’s revolutionary guard confirmed that it had launched ballistic missiles at several goals inside Israel, including in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Iranian officials said that 78 people, including top generals and nuclear scientists, were killed and over 320 wounded in Israeli strikes that began before dawn and targeted Tehran, Natanz, Isfahan and Shiraz.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed the death of Major General Mohammad Baqeri and General Hossein Salami, among others.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had beaten the “heart of Iran’s Nuclear Program,” which confirms attacks on more than 200 goals. The International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran reported significant damage to an above -ground structure by his Natanz Uranium enrichment plant.

Iran responded with two waves of missile and drone attacks and hit areas in and around Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Israeli officials said most missiles were captured, but there was a “limited number of” direct hits causing structural damage.

The US military helped intercept Iranian missiles, but said it was not involved in Israel’s offensive. Iran’s UN broadcast accused Washington of participation and warned of consequences.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appointed new top commanders and promised retaliation. “The Zionist regime has sealed his bitter fate,” he said in a statement.
