Pakistan condemns Israel’s attempt to annex the West Bank

Islamabad:

Pakistan on Friday unequivocally condemned the Israeli parliament’s illegal attempt to claim “sovereignty” over the occupied West Bank and called it a serious violation of the international law that reflects Israel’s sustained ignoring Palestinian rights and established international norms.

In addition, in a unanimous decision, the Senate strongly condemns the decision of the Israeli parliament (Knesset).

“Such conscious and provocative actions highlight the system’s systematic attempts to undermine the efforts of peace and anchor its illegal occupation. These unilateral measures represent a dangerous escalation that at risk of regional stability and prospects of a fair and lasting settlement,” spokesman for the foreign office said in a statement.

He called on the international community to take fast and decisive actions to keep Israel responsible for his violations of the United Nations Security Council’s decisions and international humanitarian law.

These measures will neither be recognized nor change the internationally recognized status of the occupied Palestinian territory, he added.

Senate

The Senate’s decision was moved by Senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan on behalf of the whole house.

The dissolution recalled that the West Bank is internationally recognized as occupied territory and that any one -sided annexation or allegation of sovereignty is a clear violation of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The house confirmed the government and people in Pakistan’s unwavering support for the fair cause of Palestine and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state in line with the relevant UN decisions and the Arab peace initiative.
