The Foreign Office in Pakistan has issued a strong response to US President Donald Trump’s comments on Gaza and calls them unfair and unacceptable.
During the weekly media briefing, spokesman for the Foreign Office Shafqat Ali Khan Pakistan’s firm attitude towards Palestine and said its politics has remained unchanged since 1947.
“Any statement suggesting that the forced removal of Palestinians from their country is unfair. Pakistan stands firm with the Palestinian people and condemns Israel’s violation of the Gaza weapon’s agreement,” Khan said.
He called on the international community to intervene against Israel’s repeated violations and confirmed Pakistan’s consistent attitude towards Palestine since 1947.
No knowledge of Bilawal Bhutto’s US visit
The spokesman concerned reports of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s visit to the United States, refused the spokesman for any official knowledge of the trip.
“There is no information about Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s visit or any scheduled meeting with the US president. If such meetings took place, the party would be in a better position to confirm,” he added.
Afghan refugees and fighting fight
In response to inquiries about Afghan refugees, Khan declared that the return of undocumented Afghan citizens is legal and that Pakistan is in continuous communication with relevant countries regarding their safe relocation.
He also said the importance of Afghanistan taking action against terrorist groups operating within its limits.
“Sigar’s report validates our concerns. We urge the Afghan government to eliminate terrorist homes in his territory. Pakistan expects Afghanistan to take responsibility for tackling the presence of terrorist clothing,” he said.
Khan also noted that the US government has accelerated the efforts to deport undocumented migrants under a new executive order.
Pakistan’s diplomatic attitude toward global questions
In a comment on Guantanamo Bay, Khan clarified that the question was not part of the discussions between Pakistan and the United States. He also dealt with concern about security threats against Pakistan’s diplomatic missions abroad, especially after the recent attack on Pakistan’s embassy in Germany.
“To ensure security for diplomatic missions is the host country’s responsibility. The attack on our embassy in Germany and description of our national flags are serious issues that have deeply affected Pakistanis,” he said.
Khan also delivered updates about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s upcoming visit to Pakistan and said events are at an advanced stage and that details will be shared soon. He repeated Pakistan’s support for a stable and peaceful Syria.
Pakistan’s attitude toward Kashmir and regional security
With regard to Kashmir, Khan Pakistan’s unwavering attitude confirmed and emphasized that its attitude is in line with the hopes of Kashmiri people.
“Kashmir will always remain a core problem for Pakistan. We stand with the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination,” he declared.
He also approached the recent statement from Pakistan’s military leadership and said it was a confirmation of Pakistan’s defense preparedness and was in response to India’s irresponsible remarks.
Dr. Aafia Siddiquis Klemency Appel rejected
Khan confirmed that Dr. Aafia Siddiquis Klemency appeals to former US President Joe Biden was rejected.
“After the rejection, the US Ministry of Justice has closed the case. However, Dr. Siddiqui can still submit a new clemency appeal through her legal representatives at all times,” he said.
He also delivered updates on Kishanga and Ratle Hydroelectric projects, which confirmed that the case will move forward with neutral experts in August 2025.
Pakistan expands condolences about the departure of Prince Karim Aga Khan
The Foreign Office expressed deep grief over Prince Karim Aga Khan, who recognized his significant contribution to global development and social welfare.
“Pakistan appreciates Prince Karim Aga Khan’s contribution to education, healthcare and community development. We are expanding our heartfelt compassion to his family and the Ismaili community around the world,” Khan said.
He added that Prince Karim Aga Khan’s heritage of humanitarian work will always be remembered.
Pakistan’s engagement with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
Khan confirmed that the Director -General of IAEA will visit Pakistan next week at the invitation of the Pakistani government and confirms Pakistan’s strong cooperation with the agency.
Kashmir Solidarity Day and Diplomatic Orientations
Khan emphasized that February 5 was observed as Kashmir Solidarity Day over Pakistan, with a special briefing organized for foreign ambassadors.
As Pakistan continues to engage in the most important diplomatic issues, the foreign office repeated its commitment to regional stability, international cooperation and the defense of Pakistan’s national interests.
