The United Nations:
Pakistan on Tuesday confirmed his historical solidarity with the Palestinian people and repeated support for the establishment of an independent, viable and coherent Palestinian state, based on borders before 1967 with AL-QD’s al-Sharif as its capital in accordance with relevant UN and OIC declines.
Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar represented Pakistan at the high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the issue of Palestine and the implementation of the two-state solution, co-chair of Saudi Arabia and France.
The conference became of particular importance when several countries, including France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Portugal, announced their recognition of the state of Palestine, which strengthens the global consensus of the Palestinian people’s right to self -determination and state.
By welcoming these messages, DPM urged all countries that have not yet recognized Palestine to take similar steps in accordance with international law. He emphasized that Pakistan has consistently supported Palestine’s case since it was among the first countries to recognize the state of Palestine in 1988.
Pakistan also approved the conference’s performance document, the New York declaration, and confirmed his commitment to a fair and lasting peace. DAR emphasized that the declaration must be followed by concrete international actions to end decades of conflict and achieve stability in the Middle East.
Separately, Pakistan confirmed his commitment to strengthening the Commonwealth role in tackling global challenges and promoting collective prosperity.
DPM approached the Commonwealth Foreign Minister Meeting (CFAMM).
Dar, who welcomes the Secretary General of his first CFAMM, since assuming the office in April 2025, famous Dar his efforts to accelerate the implementation of Chogm-2024 results and push over reforms to revive the organization.
He highlighted the importance of the forum as a platform for dialogue, peace building and cooperation in the light of overlapping global crises such as conflicts, climate change, economic vulnerabilities and disruptive technologies.
Meanwhile, DAR also called for strengthened partnership between OIC and the UN to promote a culture of peace and tolerance.
He attracted attention to the modern challenges facing Muslim Ummah, including conflicts in Palestine and Kashmir.
FM also met the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly Session.
