Pakistan Day Military Parade was held in Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Sunday and recalls the historic Lahore resolution in 1940.
The ceremony began with national anthem, followed by a view of military skill and national unity.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, chiefs of the armed forces, and other dignitaries participated in the event.
Various formations of Sherdil, Mirage, F-16, JF-17 Thunder and J-10C aircraft showed an impressive airpast, soaring through the sky with remarkable precision and agility.
President Asif Ali Zardari, who approached Pakistan Day parade on Sunday, emphasized the country’s commitment to protect his sovereignty and freedom and said that both the population and armed forces are ready to sacrifice for the country.
The president, who spoke at the event held at Aiwan-e-sadr, highlighted the principles of “unity, faith and discipline” as the basis for overcoming challenges.
He paid tribute to the victims made for Pakistan’s independence and confirmed the country’s obligation to establish a modern welfare state based on equality, justice and the rule of law.
Zardari warned against external threats from India and militant groups and assured that the armed forces and the nation are united to avert any dishonest design.
He emphasized the need to strengthen the national defense, increase economic sectors and create employment opportunities for young people, whom he called the country’s greatest asset.
He also repeated Pakistan’s unwavering support to the people of Kashmir and Palestine and urged the international community to secure their right to self -determination.
Previously, President Asif Ali Zardari underwent the quotes of the armed forces in immaculate formation to Pakistan Day parade.
A presidential greeting was presented to him as the national anthem played, marking the ceremonial procedure.
The president arrived at the venue in a traditional presidential car, escorted by his bodyguards on horseback, adding magnificent of the apartment.
The event also included a military band that performed patriotic tunes, which further improved the spirit of national pride and party.
