Karachi: Pakistan’s baseball team delivered another remarkable performance on Tuesday afternoon and overcame India by a crooked 14-1 score in West Asia Baseball Cup semi-final in Karj, Iran.
The Mercy rule was invoked after seven laps as Pakistan’s commanding lead left no chance of an Indian comeback.
The defending champions came out and swung and put five races in both the first and third laps to take firm control of the game.
Third Baseman Hussain led the offensive charge and went 2-for-4 on the record with two RBIs and four scored races. Center Fielder Wasim Akram and designated Hitter Muhammad Rehan also had strong performance that combined for four hits and four races fought in.
On the haug, Startkeren Muhammad Haris put the tone of 4.1 solid laps, which allows only a deserved race while knocking out four Indian blows.
Bullpen was even more dominant, with relievers Syed Muhib Shah and Hussain Imam combined for five strikes over 2.2 scoreless innings to seal the victory.
India fought in all stages of the game and made an alarming 10 field error while their pitchers issued eight walks. Their lonely races came in the first place, they succeeded only four hits in total against Pakistan’s cunning pitching staff.
With this emphatic victory, Pakistan goes on to Wednesday’s final, where they face Palestine as they try to defend their West Asia Baseball Cup title.
In a video message, Pakistan Federation Baseball President Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said the victory against India is dedicated to armed forces in Pakistan.
