Pakistan, Egypt condemns Israeli strikes in front of the Arab-Islamic Summit

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived at Doha on Sunday to lead Pakistan’s delegation to the ministerial meeting prior to the Arabic top-Islamic summit, called to the Israeli strikes against Qatar.

Upon arrival, Dar was received by Pakistan’s ambassador to Qatar, Pakistan’s permanent representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and senior officials in the Qatari government.

On the sidelines of the preparatory meeting with foreign ministers, Dar held conversations with his Egyptian colleague, Dr. Badr Abdelatty.

The two sides strongly condemned Israel’s “illegal strikes” on Qatar and other Muslim nations and condemned them as obvious violations of sovereignty and international law.

Both foreign ministers confirmed their country’s unwavering support to the Palestinian case and emphasized the urgent need for unity across the Muslim Ummah in confronting aggression and maintaining the rights of the Palestinians.

The Arab Summit in Doha comes in Doha comes in the midst of escalating regional tensions triggered by Israel’s expanded military campaign, which has drawn international criticism for undermining ceasefire and further destabilizing the Middle East.

Overall, Pakistan has been called the summit in response to the recent Israeli air strikes on Doha as well as the rapidly worsening situation in Palestine and the mounting of Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank.

According to a statement from Pakistan’s foreign office, leaders and senior officials from Member States in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), gather in Doha to consider the crisis and map a common strategy to tackle the development of development.

FO further noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Doha earlier on September 11, where he met the Qatari leadership and expressed Pakistan’s solidarity and support.

“Pakistan strongly condemns Israeli aggression against Qatar and other states in the region and confirms his commitment to regional peace, security and sovereignty of its partners,” the Foreign Office added.

Islamabad repeated his firm attitude towards Palestine question and called for an immediate end to hostilities through dialogue.

Israel targeted Hamas leaders last Tuesday in strikes at Qatari the capital, killing five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer. The attack drew widespread international condemnation, including from Gulf Monarchie’s ally with the United States, Israel’s most important backman.
