Pakistan will send two astronauts to China to education according to a landmark space cooperation agreement and become the first foreign nation to accedital the Peking’s prestigious space station program.
The message was made by Pakistan’s Square and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) Director Shafaat Ali Friday.
In a speech with a private news site, Ali confirmed that the two astronauts will be chosen on the basis of profits with criteria for eligibility, including the PhD. -The qualifications, aviation experience and strict physical standards.
The collaboration is under an agreement signed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government and marks a historic step in the Pakistan China spaces.
“This partnership opens up new opportunities for advanced scientific research and strengthens the already robust strategic relationship between the two countries,” Ali said.
Until now, astronaut training in China had been limited to its own citizens. This shift, noticed Suparco, reflects the elaboration of trust and a common vision for space research.
Ali outlined a three -phase selection process, which is completed in 2026, with the chosen candidates expected to conduct advanced scientific experiments aboard the Chinese Space Station (CSS). Research areas will include microgravity, space radiation, fluid mechanics, astronomy and biological sciences.
Ali expressed gratitude to the Chinese government and Prime Minister Sharif, Ali said the initiative marks “a huge leap” for Pakistan’s space housing.
