Pakistan Hails UK’s lift of ban on airlines

Islamabad:

Pakistan on Thursday greeted the British Air Safety Committee’s decision to remove its carriers from the British Air Safety List, allowing the resumption of commercial flights to the United Kingdom after a five-year hiatus.

“This landmark decision is a confirmation of Pakistan’s sustained diplomatic and technical efforts in recent years. We have shown our regular commitment to meeting and maintaining the highest international security standards,” spokesman for foreign office Shafqat Ali Khan said in a statement.

He said the removal of the ban marked an important restoration of connection.
