Pakistan, Hong Kong agrees on legal cooperation

Pakistan and Hong Kong signed an appointment morandum (MOU) to improve cooperation in legal affairs under the belt and the road meeting held in Hong Kong on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed by the federal secretary of law Raja Naeem Akbar and the Hong Kong Secretary of Justice.

Under Mou, both sides agreed to cooperate on legal affairs and capacity building, with Hong Kong, who is ready to give education to Pakistan in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. The partnership will also expand to digital governance and regulation of virtual assets.

“This agreement reflects legal reforms and institutional improvement,” said Raja Naeem Akbar after the signing ceremony.

Officials said the development marks the start of a new phase of legal and regulatory cooperation between Pakistan and Hong Kong.

Pakistan and China signed a contract morandum (MOU) on cooperation in corn breeding and industrialization development late last week.
