President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday awarded the top civilian and military awards for national leaders, military commands and government officials in recognition of their services under Marka-E-Haq, where Pakistan caused a humiliating defeat in India.
At a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Chief of Army Staff (Coas) was Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Hilal-e-Jurat to lead the Pakistani army from the front and formulate the war strategy, while air manager Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu was awarded Hilal-E-EMTIAZ.
Chairman Joint Chiefs for the Staff Committee Sahir Shamshad Mirza, chief of naval staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, was awarded to Nishan-E-Imtiaz, and DG Isi Lt Gen Asim Malik was awarded Sitara-E-Basalat.
Director-General Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan General General General Kashif Abdullah, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed and Bagadmiral Shahzad Hamid received Tamgha-E-Basalat.
Among the political leadership, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, leader of the parliamentary diplomatic committee, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Lawyer Azam Nazeer Tarar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, and Prime Minister’s adviser Rana Sanaullah was presented Nishan-Eimtiaz.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Ministers and Parliamentarians Ahsan Iqbal, Sherry Rehman, Faisal Sabzwari, Musadik Malik and Hina Rabbani Khar together with Tariq Fatemi and Khurram Dastgir Khan, were also decorated with Top Civil Awards.

Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar received Nishan-E-Imtiaz to effectively project Pakistan’s national narrative internationally under the recent Pakistan-India stresses, meet Indian propaganda and ensure a coordinated civil-military information strategy.
